11/18 blog post make up
This week there was a school shooting at an elementary school, some were around 30 kids were killed as a result. This is the world we live in, are you scared? They say a kid suicide’s every few seconds. What is the cause? People should really stop acting so negative towards others, because no one ever expects something like a school shooting or a suicide and yet it still happens. Life is unpredictable and you may think, well why should I care, I can’t make a difference. But who cares, just do it for your honor, your pride, and your integrity. My question, why would you want to do anything other than treat people like they are human? What is the point in, picking fun at someone one at the cost of depression? Everyday people hurt their brother, their sister, or their even their own friends, and at what cost? To hurt someone, without thinking why, it is pointless and stupid in my opinion. Have you ever heard the statement, “life is what you make it”? Well it is true, if you wanted to you could make a difference, you could be great, you could be someone’s hero and it really isn’t that hard.
10/28 make up post
My essay this week is about how, to lessen individuality you also lessen the destructive nature of humanity. It talks about how, if everyone has their own choice it could create problems in a society; that if you were to have your will over the will of another it might hurt someone. That also means that if everyone followed the will of a single person, that there would be less contention, less danger, and less confusion. The essay is about how in, The Giver by Lois Lowry and Anthem by Ayn Rand, they have a crazy utopian society. In The Giver they kill people who make costly mistakes, and the worst part is that not a single citizen has a clue about it. In Anthem there is no such thing as “I”, just we and if you mention ego you might just get burned at the stake. In Anthem you might even be whipping, that’s right lashings over and over again. But in reality their citizen’s never rebel, they are well behaved, literally whipped. So my question is, if you were a citizen that just found out that your community killed people, or that the leaders were all corrupt, would you even rebel or would the fear of death stop you?
